Med Spa · Paid Advertising

In aesthetics, a single click can cost more than a customer does in most industries.

That cuts both ways. The category is expensive because the treatments are worth a lot and the patients come back. But it means every structural mistake gets billed to you at full price, every day, until somebody notices. Most clinics we look at are paying for clicks they cannot trace to a single booked appointment.

Section 01 · The Economics

What you are actually paying per click

Live figures from the aesthetics category, August 2026. These are what the auction costs before anyone has booked anything:

$44
Top Category CPC
$31
Clinic Web Design Terms
$26
Advertising Service Terms
$2–5
Local Treatment Searches

The gap in that last column is the opportunity most clinics miss. National category terms are brutally expensive. Treatment plus city searches, where your actual patients are, cost a fraction of that and convert better because the person is nearby and has already chosen the procedure.

Section 02 · How We Structure It

Campaigns built the way treatments are bought

01

One campaign per treatment, not one for the clinic

Botox buyers and body contouring buyers have different budgets, different objections, and different seasonality. Pooling them into a single campaign means the platform optimizes toward whichever is cheapest rather than whichever is profitable.

02

Ads that land on the matching page

A Morpheus8 ad pointing at your homepage wastes the click and raises the price of the next one. Quality signals reward relevance, so the landing page should say the same word the searcher typed.

03

Geography drawn around your actual catchment

Aesthetics patients travel, but not far, and not in traffic. Radius targeting set by drive time rather than mileage stops you buying clicks from people who will never make the appointment.

04

Negatives maintained continuously

This category attracts searches for training courses, jobs, DIY kits, and price shopping from three states away. Without ongoing negative keyword work, a meaningful share of spend leaves through that door every month.

Section 03 · The Part Everyone Skips

If you cannot trace a click to a chair, you are guessing

Aesthetics bookings happen by phone and through third-party schedulers, and neither reports back to Google or Meta on its own. This is the single most common reason a clinic's ad account underperforms, and it has nothing to do with the ads.

  • Call tracking with numbers that swap by source, so a phone booking is attributable to the campaign that produced it
  • Conversion events fired on the booking, not on the button click, so the platform optimizes toward filled appointments rather than curious taps
  • The scheduler wired in, whether that means the booking system, the CRM, or both, because a conversion the platform never hears about may as well not have happened
  • Consult-to-treatment tracked separately from lead-to-consult, since a clinic can have excellent lead volume and still be losing money at the second step
  • Reporting in treatments and revenue, with cost per click included as context rather than presented as the result

Section 04 · Honesty

When paid ads are the wrong first move

We would rather say this now than three months into a retainer:

No site to send them to

Build first

Paying twenty dollars a click to reach a page that cannot take a booking is the most expensive way to discover you needed a website. Start there.

Nobody answers the phone

Fix the intake

Most aesthetics enquiries arrive evenings and weekends. If those calls go to voicemail, ads simply increase the number of people you disappoint. An AI receptionist costs less than a week of wasted spend.

Budget under threshold

Wait, or go organic

Too little spend means campaigns never finish learning and you pay for the education without reaching the result. In a soft local market, earned search is often the better first investment.
